The Heart

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? - Jeremiah 17:9

And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man... For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,.. Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: - Mark 7:20-22

Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. - Proverbs 4:23

If we have forgotten the name of our God, or stretched out our hands to a strange god;.. Shall not God search this out? for he knoweth the secrets of the heart. - Psalm 44:20

Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:.. And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. - Psalm 139:23,24

Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. - Psalm 51:10
