A simile is a figure of speech in which two essentially unlike things are compared.
There are many similes in the bible, such as; It is as sport to a fool to do mischief: but a man of understanding hath wisdom. Proverbs 10:23 Here, mischief and wisdom are not the same thing, but the comparison shows that it is far better to have wisdom than to do mischief.
